Clinical Nutrition & Weight Management

What you eat is the basis for your health. Changing your diet is often the first step towards correcting health problems. Many medical conditions can be treated with diet improvements and nutritional supplements, more effectively and with fewer side effects, than when treated with pharmaceuticals.

With a highly personalized approach to diet and health issues, Dr. Shikhman provides patients with dietary recommendations to facilitate the treatment of chronic diseases and help achieve and maintain a state of optimal health.

Dr. Shikhman focuses on the treatment of food allergies and sensitivities, as well as weight-related issues, and provides support and boosting for the digestive and immune systems.

Dr. Shikhman is an experienced specialist who will help you to set practical and realistic weight management goals that fit your lifestyle and needs.

Our approach to weight loss:

The first step is identifying and addressing the possible causes contributing to patient weight gain.  These might include thyroid disease, hormonal imbalance, food intolerance, nutrient deficiencies, poor dietary habits, addictions, and others.

The second stage is setting up an initial weight loss/ detox program. This lasts approximately three weeks. During this period, patients typically lose a significant amount of weight.

The third stage is weight maintenance. During this stage we work on correcting the systemic problems that contribute to weight gain.  We also adjust the diet in order to maintain the achieved weight or to promote further weight loss.
